Strategy Briefing: LEED Shows Early Signs of Post-Bubble Rebound

US LEED registration activity has spiked since the beginning of 2016, with approximately one-third more registrations in the past three months than during the same period of 2015.

The increased rate of registrations is the first clear sign of a recovery in the LEED rating system since the collapse of the LEED registration bubble that was created prior to the introduction of LEED version 3.  The volume of future LEED activity remains in question, however, as the LEED rating system will need to continue to move toward net-zero energy design to stay ahead of the rapidly spreading model green building codes from the International Code Council and ASHRAE.
